Baltimore Betty

Here are my favorite places to procure and consume comestibles in the Baltimore area. This list is dynamic and will grow as I become more familiar with the offerings in Charm City and its environs. Rest assured, these are places I have frequented more than once and believe are true Baltimore gems.

Bonaparte Bread & Cafe — On any given Sunday you will find me and my mate savoring a ham and cheese croissant and iced coffee (him) or the breakfast special of two miniature pastries, a roll, jams, orange juice and strong coffee (me) at this French bakery and cafe in Fells Point. Have a friend grab a table (indoors or out), then wait your turn in line to order from the beautiful selection in the glass cases. The woman who takes your order will then bring it to your selected table. Everything is served on and in dishware and flatware — no paper cups or plastic utensils here. After a leisurely breakfast, we usually buy a loaf of bread to take home for the week.
